With a name like Winter Park, people tend to flock to our ski slopes but are unaware of the plethora of activities there are in our are during the summer months. Located in the Rocky Mountains, Winter Park, Colorado, is a mecca for outdoor adventures and we’ve created a bucket list for your to check off while visiting this summer!
  1. Get a Picture with the Winter Park Moose.

    The iconic Moose is located in downtown Winter Park at the Winter Park Information Center. Stop in for maps and the latest information! 

  2. Attend a Summer Event.

    Take a look at our signature summer events and mark your calendar. Winter Park's Rendezvous Event Center in Hideaway Park is an amazing outdoor stage for live music and other community events. 

  3. Take Highway 40 through Rocky Mountain National Park.

    Winter Park, Colorado is the westside basecamp for Rocky Mountain National Park which is only 37 miles away. Visitors can stay and play in Winter Park and make a day trip through the Park. Take the RMNP Scenic Loop for a breathtaking drive through the park filled with wildlife and mountain views.
  4. Ride the Longest Alpine Slide in Colorado.

    The state's longest alpine slide is located at Winter Park Resort. You can purchase single tickets for the slide or grab a day pass and enjoy all the summer activities at the base of Winter Park Resort from biking to climbing. 

  5. Wildlife Spotting!

    Go for a hike on the 600+ miles of trail in our area and spot moose, deer, fox, birds and more! Check out our favorite day hikes for all abilities or challenge yourself on some of our more demanding hiking trails

  6. Put some Mountains in your Mountain Biking.

    Winter Park, Colorado is a mountain biker's dream come true. We have over 600 miles of trails as well as two lift-access bike parks, Bike Granby Ranch and Trestle Bike Park. Whether you prefer the climb up or the ride down, there is a trail to test your skills in Winter Park! 

  7. Hook a Big Fish.

    With 1,000 miles of streams, 1,000 acres of high mountain lakes, and 11,000 acres of reservoirs, Grand County's abundant resources accommodate fishing of all kinds. Enjoy world-class fishing in our gold medal waters that flow through Winter Park and Fraser. 

  8. See the Stars at 9,000' on a Camping Trip.

    From primitive to full-service campgrounds, you will find the perfect campground for your next trip to Winter Park. Cozy up to a campfire with friends and do some stargazing with little to no light pollution. (Check current fire bans before camping!)

  9. Hit the Links.

    Golfing at 9000' means the air is thin and the ball travels farther. Grand County has 4 incredible golf courses with Rocky Mountain views, rolling greens, and challenging holes. 

  10. Summer Tubing at Snow Mountain Ranch.

    Snow Mountain Ranch's tubing hill is only the third of its kind in the United States and the first summer tubing hill in Colorado (there's only two in the state).
