An Authentic Colorado Mountain Town

In Winter Park, Colorado, we offer the best of the Rockies: magnificent views of towering mountain peaks, exciting camping, hiking, biking and boating experiences, and an incredible basecamp to enjoy all that Rocky Mountain National Park has to offer. Top all of that off with great places to stay and a unique downtown, where you can dine, shop and more, and you're looking at one great small-town mountain town for your next trip.

What makes Winter Park different from other Colorado resorts? Most importantly, it's where outdoor enthusiasts will find a quality experience, no matter what their ability level or activity preference.

Diverse Outdoor Recreation

Many skiers and snowboarders already know our area for its winter playground, since we're home to Winter Park Resort and the National Sports Center for the Disabled, the world's largest disabled program. Our location, tucked against the Continental Divide, ensures dependable snow all winter long. Skiers and snowboarders are happy with two downhill resorts, learn-to-ski-and-ride parks, Mary Jane-sized moguls for the die-hards and four cross-country resorts with miles of groomed tracks. But in addition to the ski areas and Rocky Mountain National Park, there is also almost every type of outdoor recreation possible.

In the wintertime, families love slipping, sliding and gliding on the regional tubing hills and skating rinks. Once-in-a-lifetime activities also abound: backcountry snowcat ski trips, dog sled rides, hot-air balloon tours and horse-drawn carriage rides. Enjoy the snow this winter.

Even though "winter" is in our name, we also offer plenty of summer fun! Many locals testify that they "came for the winter, but stayed for the summer." Find out why. Bikers love this mountain paradise with over 600 miles of trails to explore enough and it truly is a choose-your-own-adventure bike town. Hikingriver rafting, fishing, golfing, boating, horseback riding — and an all time favorite with kids of all ages: the longest alpine slide in Colorado — ensure that everyone is able to pursue their passion or perhaps find a new one.

Festivals & Events

The warmer weather ushers in more than 200 exciting events, including marquee music festivals, running, fitness and biking events, beer and wine festivals and more — making for an event-packed summer calendar.

If we haven't given you enough reason to visit Winter Park and the Fraser Valley yet, there's more, thanks to our community. Not only will you find friendly folks here, there's also a wide variety of lodging choices, a full range of locally owned and operated services, over 60 dining and nightlife options and shopping from The Village at Winter Park to the many boutiques in Winter Park and Fraser.
