Summer is arriving ahead of schedule in the Fraser Valley, and it’s bringing a free, live concert with it. On Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m., the community is invited to celebrate “Summer Starts Sooner in Winter Park” with a high-energy Memorial Day Weekend event anchored by a free outdoor concert featuring Mat Kearney, with supporting act Rob Drabkin. - NO TICKET NEEDED. Hosted at the Rendezvous Event Center in Downtown Winter Park, and extending throughout town, the celebration blends live music, family-friendly activities, and local business specials into one vibrant, walkable experience. Whether you're a local or visiting from the Front Range, this is your invitation to kick off summer.

The event also coincides with the early summer opening at Winter Park Resort, along with the anticipated opening of Trestle Bike Park and the Alpine Slide, reinforcing that adventure season in the Fraser Valley is already underway. Memorial Day Weekend marks the beginning of a packed early summer lineup, including National Trails Day, Cooper Creek Square Music on the Square, Jetway Performance, High-Note Thursday Concert Series, Granby Ranch’s Live Music Series, and the grand opening of Fraser Bike Park. The Blues From the Top Music Festival will round out an action-packed June.

May 23: Cow Pie Bingo - High-Country Stampede Rodeo Grounds - a fundraiser hosted by the Fraser Valley Elementary Parent Advisory Council (PAC). The event is free to attend and includes music, food trucks, and family activities like bouncy houses. The fundraiser supports students and staff at Fraser Valley Elementary.
May 23: Summer Starts Sooner After Party with more music and late night dining at Devil's Craft.
May 24: Sunday Music on the Patio - Granby Ranch - Join us for live music on the patio every Sunday, all summer long! Bluebird Bistro will be serving cold drinks and hot food all day long!
