Never been to a rodeo in the Colorado Rockies? Winter Park has you covered. Get a unique perspective on Western history and culture in the Rocky Mountains, and attend one of Winter Park’s signature Western events—they won’t disappoint. Whether your group includes young children or mature adults, there’s plenty of fun and excitement to be had at the High Country Stampede Rodeo and the Middle Park Fair & Rodeo!
For the full experience, you need to start in the late afternoon with mutton busting (little-want-to-be-cowboys kids riding sheep til they slip off), then grab a delicious BBQ dinner complete with all the fixin’s before the main event. Roping cowboys, rodeo queens, bucking broncos, clowns—you won’t want to miss a thing.
Are you a rodeo pro? Our events can even satisfy your sophisticated taste. Each event offers exciting competition and authentic experiences for everyone!
While you’re in town, be sure to check out some of our unique horseback riding trails or wagon and hayrides to round out your Western experience.
Tips: Check our events calendar for dates and times. Also, it cools off in the evenings in the mountains, so be sure to bring your jacket!
Here are two of our signature offerings, hosted nearby every year:
Our motto here is ”The High Country Stampede Rodeo, where everyone has fun!” Attendance includes locals, front rangers, out of state visitors, foreign visitors, first time fans, and some fun family reunions, all who came out to cheer on Mutton Busters, Calf Scramblers, and over 200 contestants. The CPRA Rodeo and BBQ is one of the best around for the quality of the stock and participants. We invite you to take advantage of the opportunities to get up close and personal with all the animals and the contestants at the fair while enjoy quality family fun! Learn More.
