Upcoming Spring Events

While Winter is winding down in Colorado’s Favorite® Playground, there are still plenty of events to enjoy this Spring! Get up to the mountains with friends and family to enjoy live music, bike races, holiday fun and more!

March 9th, 2017

Headwaters Trail Alliance Progressive Ski Dinner 5:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Come join HTA Thursday, March 9th for an exciting Moonlight Ski down the Fraser River Trail. This ski trek will include 3 stops with food and drinks. We will be starting at the Ditch as our first stop and our starting location. We will then ski on the Winter River Trail lit with luminaries and stop at Idlewild Spirits Distillery as our second stop. We will then proceed down the Fraser River Trail and ending at Solstice Winter Bistro for a delicious catered dinner. There are 2 start times for this event. The first start time is at 5:30pm, and the second at 6:00pm. Please indicate which time you would prefer when you purchase tickets. We will have transportation available from the Safeway parking lot to the Ditch at 5:15 and 5:45 if people would like to park at Safeway. Tickets for this event are $50 and can be purchased at the HTA office at 120 Zerex in Fraser, or at the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce. You may also purchase tickets by making a $50 donation on www.headwaterstrails.org. Please call HTA at 970-726-1013 for more details and questions.

Snow Mountain Ranch Stampede Race
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Classic/Skate 25 k/ 50 k March 18, 2017 St. Patrick’s Day Celebration at Winter Park Resort 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM We hear a leprechaun is coming through the Village to spread some Irish cheer, so wear your green and celebrate St. Patrick's Day with us on Saturday, March 18. An Irish band will rock the Village stage from 12:00 to 4:00 for all guests to jam out to. There will also be tons of St. Patty's Day events and activities good for the whole family, including a pot o' gold scavenger hunt, leprechaun activities, green beads and more! Snow Mountain Ranch Ski & Fat Bike Festival All Day
Join winter enthusiasts and Nordic sport lovers of all ages and abilities for the Snow Mountain Ranch Ski and Fat Bike Festival at the Nordic Center. Events and activities featuring snowshoeing, fat biking and Nordic Skiing will fill your calendar for the whole weekend!

Closing Day at Granby Ranch
End the season strong at Granby Ranch! On Saturday is the legendary pond skim, throw on your swimsuit and strap on your board (or skis) so you can glide across the water at this one of a kind event! There is also be an outdoor cookout with your favorites, and a DJ spinning groovy tunes. Kids can make memories at our awesome photobooth or jump around in our bounce house! On Sunday Granby Ranch is hosting the Final Meltdown! This time the race starts in the morning and will feature the wildest course to date. If you haven't seen a Meltdown yet, you can't miss this race. Say goodbye to Winter 2017 with Granby Ranch!

Golden Bunny Classic at Winter Park Resort
11:00 AM - 2:00 PM Winter Park Willie and the Easter Bunny deliver holiday fun with an on-mountain candy hunt in Discovery Park as well as a base area egg hunt for children under 5. The 'Bunny Race' has been an Easter tradition for more than 39 years. Easter Egg Hunt: 11:00 AM: Younger, non-skiing hunters (ages 5 and under) meet at the Village Gazebo and wait for the candy hunt to begin 11:45 AM: All skiing candy hunters head to Porcupine and Bobcat Trails in Discovery Park to assemble and wait for Winter Park Willie. Children must have a valid lift ticket to access the hunt. 12:45 PM: Non-denominational service at the top of the Zephyr Express chairlift. Golden Bunny Race: 8:30 - 11:00 AM: Race registration at Guests Services in Balcony House, parents must pre-register each child to race before 11:00 am. 12:15 - 1:00 PM: The un-timed, FUN race beings at the top of Lower Village Way Trail, children will race in no particular order. Racers may take as many runs as they wish until the course closes at 1 PM. Children must have a valid lift tickets to access the race course. Winter Park Springtopia featuring Michael Franti
All Day One of the most anticipated events Winter Park holds all year, this year’s free (yes, FREE) Springtopia concerts will take place on Saturday, April 22 with Winter Park's favorite Hunker Down opening the show at 12:30pm followed by Denver institution The Rick Lewis Project before giving way to headliner Michael Franti & Spearhead.

Fundraiser: One Step Closer to YOUnity
One Step Closer to YOUnity is a philanthropic movement workshop inspired by Michael Franti and Spearhead’s visit to Winter Park. Experience ecstatic chanting and sacred sound incantation led by Shanti and Scott Medina, a dynamic duo from Boulder, CO. They will lead us through an exploration of chakras accompanied by a medley of local Yoga, Pilates and Shamanic healing practitioners.  This fundraising event is supporting Do It for the Love Foundation and the National Sports Center for the Disabled, two organizations striving to empower the human spirit through music and recreation.

Spring Splash at Winter Park Resort
12:00 PM - 3:00 PM Winter Park Resort will bid farewell to the 2016-17 season with Monster Energy® Spring Splash®, the 49th annual pond skim, the oldest such event in Colorado. As spectators watch, skiers and riders struggle through obstacles on the Larry Sale Trail Race Course and attempt to skim across an icy pond to reach the finish line and post the best time. Win cash prizes and swag from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in skiing and snowboarding categories. Registration: Sunday, April 23 from 8:00 - 10:30am at Guest Services (in Balcony House) Registration is $20 per person; limited to the first 100 participants; must be 18 and older (must show proof of age), day-of registration ONLY, no ski bikes.
