Tubing & Sledding
Thrills & Spills on the Tubing Hills!
Ever been snow tubing? Well, tubing on snow-covered slopes is a MUST DO while visiting the Winter Park area.
Typically there is a per hour charge, and at first you'll think you can do it for hours and hours. But take our advice: go ahead and pay for the first hour and see how you hold up. Even though there are lifts to take you back up (be sure to star-gaze while kicked back in your tube), you will get a little tired walking from where you land out in the meadow to the bottom of the lift.
No question about it. The thrills and spills make it a great family and group activity that can be done during the day or evening hours, since some of the tubing hills have lights to make this possible.
6 Tubing Adventure Options:
The Colorado Adventure Park, located just five miles from Winter Park Ski Resort, offers activities for all ages and adventure levels. Tubing rates are $18/hour or double tubes for $32/hour. For children under three, there are complementary sleds and a mini-hill. Snowscoot rentals are also available for children 6 and up, cost is $10 for 10 laps. Indoor bathrooms, a warming hut, concession counter, and a magic carpet lift make for a great outdoor experience.

Tips on what to wear:
We recommend wearing good winter layers, snow pants, jacket, snow boots, hat, gloves/mittens and even goggles to keep the flying snow free from your eyes. Better to see the expressions of excitement (or fear!) on your family and friends' faces. If you were apprehensive before the first ride, chances are good you'll be saying "Let's do it again!" afterwards.
