THE CIRCUS IS COMING TO TOWN!
Grand Park to Host the Zoppé Italian Family Circus September 2, 3, 4 and 5
Winter Park, Colo. – (July 15, 2016) Grand Park announces the Zoppé Italian Family Circus is coming to downtown Winter Park on September 2, 3, 4 and 5, 2016 with an ALL NEW SHOW. Founded in 1842 by a French street clown and a Hungarian equestrienne ballerina, the seventh generation of Zoppé family performers continue to welcome spectators into an intimate 500-seat tent known as Veneto. The circus features acrobatic feats, equestrian showmanship, canine capers, clowning and plenty of audience participation. The Zoppé Italian Family Circus is a traditional European circus with talented artists performing in the same interactive style their ancestor’s entertained families over a century ago and is one of the last family-run, one-ring traveling circuses in the United States.
“The Zoppe’s first came to Winter Park in 2008 and have been back nearly every year since then making many friends and fans in the Fraser Valley,” says Zoppe’ Colorado Tour Director Gina Hallisey. “It’s one of their favorite stops in the Colorado tour and this year’s show “Ricominciare” which means to begin again will delight fans with a re-created and re- invented show.”
Giovanni Zoppé, a sixth-generation circus performer who stars as the main character Nino the Clown, captures the hearts of the audience with his playful antics as the central figure of the circus’ story. The Zoppé circus is truly a family affair and will again include the fun of Carla Zoppé and her husband Rudy Heinin’s skillful canines as a show favorite. A new equestrian spectacular and a ringmaster from Italy are just a few of the new artists. New acrobatic and aerial performances will also amaze the audience.
“We try to touch every emotion during the show,” says Giovanni Zoppé. “They’ll laugh, they’ll cry, and they’ll feel for the characters. It’s more of an event than a show.”
The Grand Park engagement in Winter Park is part of a special 2016 Colorado Tour that runs August 12 to September 5. The location for the circus is in downtown Winter Park next to the Grand Park Recreation Center. The Zoppe’ Family is grateful for the support Winter Park & the Fraser Valley have shown them over the years. They encourage circus fans and visitors alike to come out to support this art form known as the family circus.
