Winter Park & Fraser Chamber Launches Interactive Playground Map
–Map feature makes it easy to plan vacation to ‘Colorado’s Favorite Playground’–
“There’s a lot of information out there – from website pages and blogs to social media and more,” says Scott Wickberg, Creative Director and Owner of Wick Creative. “But what people really want to know is if I am staying at a certain hotel or standing outside a certain restaurant, what other activities, attractions and businesses are near me? That’s what the Winter Park Playground Map does.”
Wickberg says users can also open the map on their smartphone, pinpoint where they are in the Winter Park area, and then sort what types of nearby businesses they are interested in visiting using the filter feature. All of the nearly 350 members of the Winter Park & Fraser Chamber have been loaded into the map (using Google coordinates) and categorized by type (e.g. restaurant, lodging, shopping, etc.). Eventually, the map will also include different icon shapes to indicate events, hiking and biking trails, scenic drives, blog posts and more.
“This map is great not only for people who come to Winter Park for vacation and want relevant information to their current location, but it’s also wonderful for our members,” says Winter Park Executive Director, Catherine Ross. “This feature increases the chances that Winter Park businesses will be found by guests who are looking for what they offer, and that’s a win-win proposition.”
Ross says that this is just one of the interactive features on www.playwinterpark.com. The site also has apersonalized travel planner so guests can build their own customized Winter Park brochure to help them navigate their trip, with the option to share it with family and friends.
