Two Festivals Highlight the Tastes & Sounds of Winter Park & Grand Lake

It’s always a delight to travel to Winter Park and Grand Lake, but there’s even more reason this weekend. Saturday, August 22 is the perfect time for wine and music enthusiasts to come to Grand County, as two exciting festivals gear up to deliver late summer pleasures. From the chance to taste more than two dozen wines to a blues concert on the shores of Grand Lake, this weekend promises to be memorable.

2015 Winter Parked Uncorked

Have a twin yen for hearing live music while tasting the area’s best wines? Find your way to Winter Park’s Hideaway Park Amphitheater on Saturday afternoon to experience the 2015 Winter Park Uncorked Wine Festival.

Scrumptious food samples from area chefs, live music by Greg Holden plus a winetasting that includes thirty specially chosen wines equals an unparalleled afternoon in the park. Part of the Odell Brewing Summer Concert Series, this festival also offers up the funky, soul-flavored sounds of Jaden Carlson. Still time to order tickets!

Spirit Lake Blues Festival

If you’re in search of the some of the country’s best blues, start your weekend with a trip up the road in Grand Lake.That’s where you’ll find the Spirit Lake Blues Festival, also on August 22. Nationally known blues artists like Ana Popovic, Kara Grainger, John Weeks Band and My Blue Sky will delight the crowds on the shores of Grand Lake, thanks to the efforts of the Grand County Blues Society and the Grand Lake Chamber of Commerce.

To enhance your listening pleasure, you’ll find mouth-watering barbecue and beverages, adult and otherwise, on sale at the venue. With a front-row seat to Colorado’s largest natural lake and outstanding blues everywhere you listen, how could it get any better? And we hear there’s even an after-party, free with the price of festival admission.
