Winter Park Critters
Love critters? Check these out in Winter Park!
Horses, Dogs and More
If you love animals as much as we do, there are three must-do activities in Winter Park during the winter months.
Willie, Winter Park Resort's Mascot
After a day on the slopes, swing by the Private Lesson Center in the Village to meet Willie, Winter Park Ski + Ride School's mascot. Your kids will love hanging out with Willie! He's been known to slap high-fives, take great photos, and give really good moose hugs. Willie will be hanging around the resort until through March 26.
Horse-Drawn Sleigh Ride
Sleigh rides are another great way to experience our winter wonderland, animal style! We have a number of local outfitters that offer a variety of tours and lengths. For instance, with Dashing Thru the Snow, you can take a one-hour ride through secluded woods and meadows. At Devil's Thumb Ranch, there are all sorts of rides, including morning and evening feed options. Sombrero Stables at Snow Mountain Ranch/YMCA of the Rockies has hot cocoa and dinner sleigh rides. Finally, Winding River Resort offers group and private rides.
There's something exceptionally cool about being pulled by sled dogs through the forests near Winter Park. Dog Sled Rides of Winter Park has 80 Siberian and Alaskan huskies who can take you on an adventure that is sure to be a howling good time. The musher and dogs do all the work. All you have to do is st back and enjoy! Snow Mountain Ranch/YMCA of the Rockies also offers guided dog sled rides. Reservations are required at both places.
