Indoor Winter Fun
Playing inside sound good today?
Winter Park isn't just about skiing/riding and playing outside. There are fun indoor activities to enjoy. Participate in arts and crafts programs, try your hand at archery, take a swim, try a fitness or yoga class, enjoy the spa (ahhhhhh!) - just some of the fun that can be had indoors.
Feeling inspired creatively? Snow Mountain Ranch-YMCA of the Rockies has an arts and crafts program that is included in the day fee of $15 (materials cost extra). They offer paint your own pottery, mosaic, tie-dying, stain glass, leather work, beading and much more. Then head to the climbing wall or try our your aim with archery. Finish up with a swim in the indoor pool since it's included in your day fee.
For those more serious about their art, there are some exceptional art galleries you'll want to visit: Elk Horn Art Gallery, TAB fine art, WP Framewerx and Nest.Artistic Home, all in downtown Winter Park, and Elizabeth Kurtak's Gallery in Fraser.
How about a fun duo? The Foundry Cinema & Bowl is our only movie theater and bowling alley, offering 2 theaters and 8 bowling lanes. They specialize in wood fired pizzas and of course all of your favorite movie snacks.
We realize that sometimes guests get to feeling a bit weary from all the outdoor play, try soaking those weary muscles in the Grand Park Community Recreation Center's giant hot tub or bask in the sauna and steam room after your action-packed day. If you have kids they will (of course) still have energy and will enjoy the 25 yard lap pool, lazy river, water slide and play structure in the aquatic center. A multi-sport gymnasium, climbing wall, cardio/circuit/free weight area and drop-in child care room are also on site.
History buffs will enjoy Cozens Ranch Museum, the site of the first ranch and stage stop in the Fraser Valley. Located in Winter Park, the original 1876 house tells the story of early life in the valley.
You will also find a variety of spas and wellness centers throughout the valley that offer massages, hot stone therapy, craniosacral, TaiYi Energywork and yoga classes. Be kind to your body and you'll be ready to take on reality when you get back home.
