  • For those who want to drive

There are several car rental agencies at the Denver International Airport. Four wheel drive is generally not necessary but can be nice. Most rental cars will have ski racks in the winter. If you choose another mode of transportation to get to our destination and then would like the convenience of a car or SUV while in Grand County, we have two local car rental agencies. Hertz/Home James is conveniently located in Fraser (800.359.7536) and Avalanche Car Rental (888.437.4101), located in Granby, will deliver a car to you in most cases.

Winter Park is located 93 Northwest of Denver International Airport. From the airport, take Pena Blvd to I-70 West. From I-70, take exit 232 (Highway 40) over Berthoud Pass. Make sure to keep your eyes out for some of our locals on the way (think moose, foxes, and mountain goats!) Enjoy the beautiful views as you wind your way over Berthoud Pass and down in to the majestic Fraser Valley.
