Dog Cart Rides

Sled dog kennel tours and dog cart rides available during the off season in Winter Park.

Need a fido fix? Not visiting during the winter but would love to take a Colorado dog sled ride? Here’s your solution: Dog Sled Rides of Winter Park offers sled dog kennel tours & dog cart rides (available during the off season). Take a one-hour educational walking tour of their kennel or a 45-minute cart ride through the woods. Either way you get to meet and pet dogs! It’s all of the dog sledding fun, without the winter chill.

Each dog cart ride can accommodate one, two or sometimes three to four guests in each cart. A weight limit determines the number of riders. Ask to steer and use the brake for a unique experience, but the mushers are there for guidance and can take over if you’d like.

The dogs get pretty hot pulling without snow on the ground, so they have to stop in the shade occasionally to cool off. They also stop for a water break or two where the guests can take pictures if they like. Our favorite photo op? Ask your guide to take a few pictures from the front of the team with all the dogs and you in the background.

Along the way your guide will point out any wildlife, tracks, photo opportunities and answer any questions about dogsledding or local history, attractions or activities.

The trip covers about three and a half miles on private property in approximately 30 to 45 minutes. You will get to see some amazing views along the way including 13,000 foot peaks, the Continental Divide and Winter Park Ski Resort.

Dog Sled Rides of Winter Park offers dog cart rides at sunrise, sunset and sometimes in between depending on weather and trail conditions.

Reservations are required. Check out our local vendor to book your ride today!
