Summers are the best in Winter Park!

Summers in Winter Park

Get a Taste of Our Wide Open Spaces
Get into the beautiful Colorado high country on a mountain bike, horseback, or by hiking on our hundreds of miles of trails. Take a white water rafting trip down one of the thrilling Colorado rivers, or feel the old West by climbing aboard a horse-drawn wagon or stagecoach. A spectacular hot air balloon ride is a perfect way to see the beauty, from above, of the Fraser Valley. There's never a lack of something to do during our glorious summers!

High-Altitude Awareness
Be prepared for Colorado's ever-changing weather conditions. Afternoon thunderstorms are common in summer; bring a windbreaker or sweatshirt, even on warm days. At high-altitude, dehydration sets in rapidly. Always carry plenty of water and do not drink from alpine river, lakes or streams. And always tell someone where you are going and when you expect to return. And on windy days, be aware of falling trees, which have become weakened by the pine bark beetle infestation.
